Privacy policy
What SwarmSafe collects — Google Analytics included — what it does not, and how affiliate links work. Last updated 9 October 2026.
SwarmSafe is a static informational website. We do not run user accounts, we do not sell data, and we collect as little as we can while still keeping the site working. A site about privacy should practise it, and this policy is written to be read, not to be survived.
What we collect
Like any website, our host records standard server logs — IP address, browser type and the pages requested — for security and to keep the service running. We do not build advertising profiles and we do not run third-party ad networks. The one analytics tool we use, Google Analytics 4, is described next.
Google Analytics
SwarmSafe measures which guides are read with Google Analytics 4, a service of Google LLC and Google Ireland Ltd. It collects pages viewed, the referring site, approximate location (city or country level), device and browser type, and session timing. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Advertising features, Google signals and ad personalisation are off; the data is not used for advertising and is not sold.
In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, nothing is sent to Google until you click Accept on a banner that asks first. Elsewhere, analytics is on by default, and you can switch it off at any time. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, we read that as an opt-out. After analytics is allowed — and only then — GA4 sets the first-party cookies _ga and _ga_<ID>, which last up to 2 years. We keep your choice in your browser's local storage (key: analytics-consent), not in a cookie.
Use Cookie settings to reopen the banner and change your answer. Google's privacy policy covers what Google does with the data, and the Google Analytics opt-out add-on blocks GA on all sites.
Affiliate links
Some outbound links are affiliate links. When you click one, the destination provider may set a cookie so that a resulting subscription is credited to us. That process is controlled by the provider, under their privacy policy, not ours. You can read more on our affiliate disclosure page.
Email, if you subscribe
If you choose to join our update list, we store only the email address you give us and use it only to send occasional updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email, and we will delete your address on request. We do not sell or rent the list.
Your choices
You can browse SwarmSafe without giving us any personal information, block cookies in your browser, and use a VPN or tracker-blocker while you do. For questions about your data, or to make a request, email [email protected].
